Job 29:5.
A true saying has it that "the family that prays together, stays together. Here is another true saying: the family that eats together and communicates, raises well-adjusted children." The Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center studied five hundred teenagers and here's what they discovered: Children who's parents ate dinner with them five times a week or more were more the least likely to be on drugs, to be depressed, or to be in trouble with the law. They were also more likely to do well in school, and be surrounded by a supportive circle of friends. Even when families met together at a fast-food restaurant they got about the same results. By contrast, the more poorly adjusted teens ate with their parents only three times a week or less. So what's our findings?
1) You need to make out time to be with your children on a daily basis, especially during the formative years.
2) When you give your children things or gifts, you give them a short term pleasure and excitement, but when you give them time, you give them self worth. This may call for working fewer hours or eliminating some certain activities, but it is an investment you'll never regret. Business and money chase ain't enough excuse to be some much away. Even Job, one of the wealthiest men in his generation, yet he was close to his children, being aware of their feasting. Yet he sort to always consecrate them continually. (Job 1:4,5). After tragedy struck and he lost all 10 of his children in a single day, he looked back and wrote " 5 When the Almighty   was yet with me,  when my children  were  about me; (Job 29:5).
You need to ask yourself: 'Am I spending enough time with my family?'. If you don't like the answer, start changing things.

Not only does the Bible have a lot to say about family, but it is in our Christian duties to attend church together or at least practice prayer and study the Bible. Saying grace before dinner and a bedtime prayer are both great ways to start the kids off young in the family teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God Bless you.
