'For your  Father knows the things you have need of  before you ask Him.' (Matthew 6:8. NKJV).

We'll like to compare prayer to breathing. We breathe instinctively without consciousness or awareness of the need to; it comes naturally as a result of our moment-by-moment dependence on oxygen.
 Edwin Keith once said,
 'Prayer is
exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the Spirit of God'. That's how God wants us to engage in our communication with Him. He so desires to be that air you breathe.

Some people have this notion that, they probably can't pray. Usually, the true meaning here is that they do not know how to pray like we do, they do not know how to use our 'free language', of prayers (speaking in tongues). But, for the grace God has given everyone, His love mannerism and His divine kindness, He has give us a right to come up to His throne of mercy. Jesus Said in Matthew 6:
Vs 7 And when you  pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen  do. For they think that they will be heard for  their many words.
Vs 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your  Father knows the things you have need of  before you ask Him". (NKJV).
Jesus means you don't need to worry about getting the words right because your heavenly father knows just about what you need, even before you utter a word. He means that God listens to our hearts much more than our words. Through prayer, we breathe His Spirit.
Now note better, that Prayer ain't a public demonstration of how Spiritual you are. Christ said:
' 6 But you, when  you pray, go into your room, and when you have  shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the  secret place; and your Father who sees in  secret will reward you openly.' (Matthew 6:6 NKJV).
Communication with someone you love calls for getting alone with him/her, away from distractions and interruptions. Now, can you show God how much you love Him? He wants to have a chatter with your heart, He wants to listen, He wants to teach you and me, He just wants us to come a little closer and have an intimate talk.
Think along these lines tonight.
